Tips On offshore sailboat

In 1839 the first inflatable boat pontoons were tested by the Duke of Wellington. In 1840, the Englishman Thomas Hancock designed inflatable craft and described this work in "The Origin and Progress of India Rubber Manufacture in England" published a few years later. Marinas are the top of the range as far as moorings are concerned. Moorings in a marina tend to provide deep water throughout the day and therefore a jetty or pontoon is provided so that you can walk to your boat without getting wet. These are known as Pontoon Moorings. They will also provide most of the facilities that you require whilst using your boat. These may include showers and toilets, chandlery, parking, cafe and even a clubhouse. The security provided by a marina will be good and in many cases will include electronic access gates and CCTV camaras.

A personal water craft (PWC) is a recreational watercraft that the rider sits or stands on, rather than inside of, as in a boat. Models have an inboard engine driving a pump jet that has a screw-shaped impeller to create thrust for propulsion and steering. They are often referred by the names WaveRunner, Jet Ski, or Sea-Doo, which are brand names owned by Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Bombardier, respectively.

Sailing Yacht's Propeller Energy Conversion?

Fri, 8 Jun 2007 18:03:13 +0200
I was just reading the thread on sailing yacht propellers and was wondering if anybody has ever used their propeller to generate electricity while under sail. Seems like it would be easy enough... just install a gear on the shaft and connect it to some form of small turbine.... I would think this could be a pretty efficient way to charge batteries, etc., while under sail but I've never heard anyone comment on it.
